you know annoyance snow.

Awoke and went to the bathroom this morning.
Why is the water in the toilet running....?
No it's not. Hmmm What is running ?

Head for the cellar, one of the outdoor faucets apparently froze and popped.
At least the water was all outside. So water is shut off now and I'll deal with it in the spring when it warms up.

We've been here 15 years and never had anything freeze.
Not good.

We have one bathroom - the only one left we have not remodeled and they routed the piping where it could freeze. Thankfully, it never has to the point where we had a real issue but on some nights, like tonight, we leave the cold faucet dripping. We had such a slick driveway tonight due to ice the wife had to walk down to the street to get in. When I pulled my truck out it slide the entire way to the street. If it was only flat we could go ice skating. Don't you just love winter.

You’re fortunate to have shutoff valves for the outside water bibs. Water for the entire house had to be turned off when I experienced the same…oh yeah; it was fixed the same day.

Thank you Mother Nature. It was sunny and above freezing today. I took a hand leaf blower and was able to pop up all the ice in the driveway before we get our next snow storm later tonight.

Emil.

My son's place of employment has offered him the use of a sick day on Monday to avoid his attempting the 45+ minute commute in the worst of the storm. Not sure what we will do at my place, I guess I'll wait and see how things are on Monday, and/or if any of the guys show up at the shop before I decide if I'm going in. I have the feeling most won't come in, if we're going to have another foot of snow.

It’s interesting listening to snowy driving conditions in the eastern and mid-western states and what havoc it causes. Colorado’s snow storms generally don’t begin as rain and coat the streets with ice as the temperature drops, we normally have packed snow on the roads, but not ice. I’ve driven on both and ice truly sucks. Ya'll be careful out there.

They are predicting 13" here between Sunday evening and mid-day Monday. To add insult, Monday night's low is supposed to be -5F.
