Exactly, Gene.

Now to plan a trip so I don't sit in an airport.

^ Wow...that is awful. You are setting some records up there, but not the kind you want! We just have really cold weather today and on Sun with maybe a bit of snow.

I awoke to an incredible loud booming sound this morning.
The ice dams on the roof were expanding and popping in the extreme cold.
If you've ever been skating on a pond you probably know the sound.

We have never had an issue with ice dams. We do have a lot of icicles which is rare.

Are ice dams common on houses like mine (small ranch style) or are they more common with houses with more lines in the roof, like yours, and Bill's? Obviously, I'm sure we have ice in the gutters, and I don't see any melting anytime soon.

Ice dams have backed up to the point that I now have a leak in my front entry that I painted a couple of years ago.

The first classic come up the coast big nor'easter akin to the blizzard of '78.
And that will be on top of all of he other crap on the ground.

of course it could come passing inland and dump an inch or so of rain on the wet snow too.

That looks like something you would see on the wall of a head shop in the 60s*. All it needs is "Unisys" changed to "Burroughs"

*Of course I've only seen pictures of headshops from the 60s.

Speaking of winter, here's how my nephew spent last Sunday. He's a car nut.
