Clear coat chipping problem

Agree with everyone. It is not fixable. It is either...

a)bad mixture of partA/partB on the clearcoat, making it weaker

b)bad application, with lots of highspots

c)paint not prepped, thus clear just peeling off

d)all of the above.

Take it back, and raise hell.

I doubt I can take it back.. I'm not the owner that got the repair done. Besides, I'm not even in the same state that he is in.


Yes, I'm now realizing that it is not fixable... is there a temporary fix for me during the winter? I hate the parts of the flaking clear that you can pick off... it just makes me want to keep picking at it! would it hurt if i sanded it down with 1200 or so to make it even? then polishing it out a bit.

If its peeling off, sanding/buffing of any kind with just strip the rest of it off. Just wait till spring time, and have it resrayed.

that sucks... it hate seeing it like that. makes me just want to pick it all off!
