Respray or home made repair?
Ok guys, well I have had an issue with my rear bumper, it appears something had fallen on it and burned a spot about the size of an eraser head to the black plastic on my Silverstone paint job.
My question at this point, is this.
I have tried to repair the spot , but its looks horrible.
I am planning on selling the car soon, need a larger car.
Should I have the rear bumper resprayed, and risk a mis-match of paint on the rear bumper, because I wont let the shop blend into the quarter panels.
Or just leave the home made repair on it, and hope the buyer does not mind.
What are your thoughts on this, I dont think this little spot will affect resale value, but I dont know.

I'd look into a PDR & Paint guy who can repair the spot without a full respray.
Like I mentioned in the other thread, some PDR guys also do spot paint work with an airbrush and do a decent job of it. I don't know what sort of price this will run. Likely around $100-150...
Will not repairing the problem knock that much off the value of the car? It's just another thing a potential buyer (or dealer) can nit-pick about, so it might be worth it. Whereas a full respray of the bumper - even a darn good one - will definitely knock value off if someone (such as a dealer or educated car buyer) notices the tell-tale signs of a repaint. Plus, you're probably looking at $500-600 at least for a full bumper respray.
That's my opinion and it's worth what you paid for it.
