Therein lies the issue, some of the moderators are sensitive so if a report is made, a warning is applied to the account, even if they were told to...(see my account, I also have the PM's the mod told me to talk to an admin). When members are berated for reporting and bringing these issues up, it only creates a greater sense of animosity towards the mods.

Probably just better if you combine S2000 talk and Car Talk together...

You're either a moderator or you're not. If you can only put your 'hat' on when you want or 'need' to, maybe being a moderator isn't for you. The hat must not have been on when you trolled my thread, I'm assuming?

Still mad that you couldn't follow directions when posting in the Marketplace huh...

Since you've made this a personal issue, I'll respond...

The way we moderate the classified section is different from the way we moderate other forums. There is a template that you need to adhere to. It's one thing to post an opinion on s2000 talk, it's another if you are scamming buyers. IF you don't think it happens, look at the Seller Feedback thread. It's an unfortunate reality of the marketplace and it's also why we have as many Moderators monitoring the Classified section. Sam_spider was not "trolling" your thread. He was making sure the guidelines were followed. If you have a problem with it, then don't post in there. I have more than enough PMs from people who have had bad seller transactions resolved because of his work. Your inability to read the rules is not our problem. This thread is about constructive feedback on how to improve the site not your personal vendeta.

Back to topic.

I don't feel it's fair to restrict Moderators from posting in the forums they moderate, or any forum for that matter. If they are throwing their ego into the mix or they are making it personal and are using their Moderating tools in an unprofressional matter, that's a behavior that needs to be reported. If it continues, then perhaps Moderating is not the best role for them and they will be replaced.

The more moderating in the classifieds the better imo. That's the most important place for it!

So Mods shouldn't be active members of the community and allowed to post their own opinions and information? Do you really think things would be better if this forum was moderated by people that have no interest in the topics at hand? Do you think discussions like this would even be allowed to show or any leniency around the rules would be given? I want you to really think about a board that is moderated by people that aren't allowed to participate or that flat out don't care about the topics at hand.

No, what he's saying is that regardless of the content, the moderator responding should be aware of the responsibilities that come along with being such and the roles that they play. I.e. instead of doing what Luder did in the above referenced thread, which was to flame the OP and cause strife, something which a moderator 'shouldn't' do, the mod could have simply not said anything at all. Instead, he was a bit of an asinine prick, and when he was called out for being such he locked it.

A mod should always contribute to a thread if they can, they should not however cause disagreements or act in a way that is not appropriate of someone with their title.

Agree, and feedback was given.

Nice response, Admin. It is very apparent that you do not get it and a prime example of why this thread was created and agreed upon by other members. I was not the one that made it personal when a moderator trolled my thread with a useless post simply to attack me which was not on topic.

Which is why I made another topic, as directed, to sell my item which followed the rules completely (the same thread the moderator trolled). Nothing I did was scamming anyone. I did not post a price, that's it. My initial issue was that it took 3 PM's to moderators to find out if my thread had been removed, when in reality, if a moderator is going to remove my FS thread (which I PAY for), they should also notify me (should be automatic anyway) And because you refuse to come to realization of what really took place:

Feel free to download and read the PM's to which I was banned for... Yes, I was banned for leaving it off the forum to take my business to PM's while a moderator trolled me on the boards. http://www.mediafire.com/download/9z...ed-thread.html

And yes, sam_spider was trolling my thread (there is a reason why you won't find it in the thread anymore, amirite?).

Regardless of the section, I'm willing to bet that the rest agree that this spills over onto the entire board.

If I'm not mistaken, this would be where the multitude of PMs stemmed from. We asked you to post a price, and not just OBO. After sending multiple PMs, this was your new post.

Though you may not agree with it, it was within the rules.

The file I posted with the entire PM conversation will show the chain of events and what followed.

On top of that, I was banned for a month without even an explanation. My assumption of it was power tripping.
