Don't get one if you can't fork over the fine within the allotted time slot they give you.

Cops around here are using laser all over the place, you won't find a radar detector to help you with laser, by the time you hear the alarm you are dead in the water in most circumstances no matter what the company advertises. They work really well for all other radar though.
I would actually argue this. The STi magnum is the top of its class for detection and it catches laser radar (can't downgrade something you haven't used or seen) and it catches it consistently well at a far range.

The only issue is helicopters since they fly above the radar range.
It catches laser if it bounces off other vehicles ahead of you. If you are in the cop's sight and no other vehicle is between you and the cop and he pulls the trigger you are caught, there's no two ways about it.

How often are you the only car on the road within a 3 km radius? yes it can happen but so can being struck by lightning. I'm also not saying this thing is 100% full proof as I'd be an ignorant bitch if I thought so.

The cop would have to single me out while never touching it for a good 2-3mins. Sit around a hwy or non residential street and count how many cars are alone in 2-3 minute bursts. There's always "if's"

I'm more willing to talk about it in person as my buddy and I have been saved so many times. Coming home from seeing Lee there was 3 traps I avoided with ease.

Man I could have used one of these this past weekend, when I was forced to support the New York State Police , lol.

I was looking at the Passport Redline which seemed like a pretty good machine, but I haven't looked closely at the Beltronics one. I got caught by old fashion radar, I still don't expect it to save me under laser use all of the time though.
