Need to replace Head Gasket :(

The stealership can do the valve adjustment for you. IMO if you want it done right do it yourself. Lots of "how to" on here. Gotta remember that no one will take a much time and care as you will.

Looks like you gotta pull the valve cover to fix the oil leaking, might as well do a valve adjustment while you're there.
Over filling the motor will cause for higher oil pressure and the oil will find weak spots to leak out of.

Relax, it's barely overfilled.
Look at where the dipstick goes past the windage tray. There's still lots of room before any potential issue could arise.
Doesn't the full XXXX range equaql 1 full liter? Looks like 5L went in which is what most track junkies put in.

When I found a problem via a compression and leak down test I asked several reputable shops and techs for an opinion. Some physically inspected the car and did their own testing. Others just offered advise based on what I could tell them. I got a wide range of recommendations. Had I gone with the first shop they would have pulled my whole motor $$$. Had I gone with the advise of some techs I would have done nothing and now know I would have risked grenadeing my motor. The best advise I got was from Billman. He said any competent tech can perform the leak down test and determine where the problem is. This really made me question the competency of some shops/techs or in some cases the motive to make as much money as possible. In the end I got the right diagnosis and repair done. My advice is to get more than one opinion and take what you learn from each of them to make an educated decision.

Great thread. I ordered my blackstone kit and picked up a can of brake cleaner. I am relieved too this is no big deal, but I did notice that the markings on the oil seal plug do not line up, it is off maybe 1/5 of a turn. Anyone have an idea why it was removed?

Brad, sounds like oil sweating from valve cover seal. And for the smoke, that happens to a lot of s2000's on track. Don't touch the head gasket. Very unlikely the cause.
Get a catch can if you're doing track days still. The saikou michi is what I run. Cost effective and extremely well designed. That solved my problem of smoke out tail pipe during hard corners.
The valve cover seal is cheap and a quick diy job.

Love the feedback from you guys, I'm going to monitor the oil leak, if it persists I will replace my valve cover gasket. If I continue to smoke, I will install a catch can system.
So excited to get her driving again without worry

There is no shop that said I needed a head gasket? I was originally asking who you guys would suggest bringing it to.
I just saw a bunch of oil leaking and smoke and assumed head gasket, I realise now I was over reacting and am glad I brought it up on this forum
