Default Plastic Window

Anyway to replace the Plastic window? I have a new top only 1 year old but the plastic window cracked.
If I buy a used top how much does it usually cost to have it installed?

Looking for cheapest route for replacing the plastic window..basically gonna sell the car within a year and need to have the window fixed..if i was keepking it I would'nt replace its fine taped no leaks.

If you notice on the inside of the soft top, there's actually a zipper. You can replace the entire back portion of the soft top (the part that has the plastic window) but, if I recall, it's a huge pain to do yourself. There's a link to the part below

Part number 6 on that diagram

That was a nice feature of the plastic windows. Be able to drive top up but unzip the window.

Looking at the service manual right now... It looks like a HUGE PITA to zip/unzip the window let alone replace the entire window portion of the soft top. (Not trying to discourage anyone, just being honest)

Takes a whole 12 seconds to unzip it. I know because I did it at least twice a week

Does this mean you can simply buy a replacement plastic window and re-install? I assume Honda sells this way?

Definitely not simply! You have to take the rear tray out and a a series of bolts that hold the rear portion of the top in, drill out pop rivets, re rivet and then reinstall.

Do you just pull the zipper? The service manual makes mention of like a dozen things you need to do lol

Covering the zipper (if it has never been unzipped before) is a piece of foam material. Peal that off if it's not already off. Grab the zipper end and unzip it. It's that easy.

As for replacing the back window part I agree with o'malley. I would say if your going through the trouble to replace that piece it may be worth it to replace the whole top with the glass one.
