Default Alarm problem - siren doesnt work

I have used the panic feature on my alarm to make it go off, the indicators flash as if the alarm is activated and the siren makes a very very quiet noise that sounds like the alarm.

Im guessing the siren unit is broke. I have the two button keyfob type (V plate s2k). Is this common. The siren is on the left hand side of the engine bay near the front.

Also - unrelated - the boot opening funtion (pressing the unlock button a second time when the indicator light flashes to open the boot) doesn't seem to work

Thanks

There's a timing knack to getting the boot to open. I wait a second after first pressing and then press again and hold, and it seems to work 9 times out of 10 (usually only when not holding something really heavy)

Leaving the bonnet or boot open and then setting the alarm should cause it to go off after a while.

My siren is knackered too.

Boot opening only works 65.3838263625% of the time. It is a knack

Got a MY04 3-button fob alarm, which was I think, factory fitted. As far as I can make out it doesn't have a panic feature. Is this a step backwards?

Anyway, most of my panicking takes place in high speed corners - i don't have time to fumble for the keyfob

It is.

It is a big improvement over the POS alarm that Honda UK installed into the earlier cars.

Mine works just very very very quietly, you can only hear it with bonnet up.

There is also a control box in the engine bay on the left that looks a bit aftermarket? I assume this is the alarm control unit and was fitted by Honda UK too?
