More progress!

Considering getting it powder coated.

£130 for a bloody water pump!!
At least it looks more than capable for the job

There's some compressor vanes in there somewhere ..

Bought a 102mm cable throttle body, didn't realise how much bigger it'd be! Also need a throttle position sensor and idle control valve I think :|

These are interesting ..
"1000bhp driveshafts"
https://www.tegiwaimports.com/index....9-10-pair.html

Also available in 500bhp version.

Would totally be down for these if I knew that the diff wouldn't explode/I could source a mega uprated diff.

For now I'll play the "see how long before it breaks" game, just want to get it running.

Just quickly test fitted the pump and reservoir in rough floating positions.
I was hoping to have the reservoir sat directly above the pump but that came with too many issues with clearances of the bonnet, aux belt and aux belt tensioner.

Custom thermostat housing will be needed to direct a rad hose towards the bottom of the rad (bottom inlet on the rad is on the other side of the outlet of the Ls engine which is a pain)

Current plan is to put the reservoir further back level with the charger coolant inlet and outlet.
The pump will stay in near enough the orientation I originally wanted, just a little bit lower due to the elbows required to route the piping from reservoir to pump.
(I'll need to buy two more silicone elbows)

Also need to make some brackets for the pump and reservoir.

Priced up the remaining hoses, all the clips and some piping and which a 15% discount code the total comes to £61.46
Wowzers, good job that includes all the parts for the regular cooling system too!

I love people that rate their driveshafts by just how much power the engine can make. It reassures you that they don't have a clue about driveshafts so you can go elsewhere for some proper ones instead.

It's says they were tested at 1800 ft.lbs
Seems reasonably viable to me at least?

Well, that's more like it, but is that static, dynamic, including transverse loadings on or a car, or just straight reading from a slow cycle on a torsion rig?
And why state 1000bhp if you're going to give a torque figure anyway, why not just a torque figure and then the power factors that modify it?

Maybe I'm just a pedant!

We should start a sweep

I'm going to go with less time than it takes to shift the smile off your face after your first "sorted" drive

The guys at work started a sweep when I first got the car as to how long before I wrote it off.
Got it in June 2009 and the bets varied from 2 weeks through to the winter months.

I'm glad they were all wrong!
I hope not too much goes wrong once it's finished but I'd be foolish to think it's going to be perfect straight off the bat.
