Which is the best for what? What are the criteria you're looking for it to fulfil? As I understand it, different aftermarket ECUs have their own differentn strengths and weaknesses.

Pays your money and takes your choice. Personally it one of the last mods I would make as it has to be treated VERY carefully. You are changing the characteristics of the engine. Bit like a Pilots fly by wire, that is what determins what the car does and when.

A piggyback ECU installed and set up to your specific vehicle and its mods by someone that has good knowledge of High revving N/A vehicles.
Literally thousands of Jap bikes run around with these things (Power Commander is one) and they are immensely reliable while helping the engines run closer to their optimum.
Stuff like Unichip springs to mind and of course they are not dependant on requiring specific track type mods such as thermostats, fan switches etc.

You won't gain anything by simply changing the ECU. You would only need to do this if you are thinking about fitting a blower or changing injectors. The S2000 Stock ECU is pretty damn good at its job - how else would you squeeze 240 horses out of a NA 2.0L Engine?
Owen Developments will fit you a nice programable Motec one for

You need to know what you are going to do with it. Which is, what?
