Default Engine missing

Sometimes when starting from cold after the car has been in the garage for a few days, I experience the engine missing. Today the engine missed at circa 7000 revs in second and third. In all cases this is in the first mile. Any ideas?
Thanks

The dealer should be able to tell in a couple of miniutes once he plugs it into the diagnostics.

The rev limiter should stop you Vtecing til you have three bars on the temp gauge. Are you trying to kill it??

Thanks, didn't realise there was a limiter on it for this purpose. I did think the first time it happened the revs were around 5000 but can't be sure.

The temp guage was at least 3 bars but may have just got to that point. The car had been started and run so was not completey cold.

The gauge only shows water temp, the oil takes longer to reach temperature. A good rule is to wait two or three miles. It's worth remembering as well the the stock S02 tyres have very little grip when they cold. We would hate to see you as another of the "lost it" statistics.
