are you bum chums ?

this is the last time I will say this

the dealer should be seeking a solution to the issue, not just merrily replacing engines

if I had 3 or 4 engine replacements in a relatively new car then I would reject it

the warranty is a contract between Honda and the owner

but the dealer is at the sharp end so it is in his interest as well to get to the root of the problem

unless he just wants to bill Honda for the warranty work

how many engines have Bristol Honda replaced now ?

ps. I am sure you wouldn't be as rude or full of yourself in person (not for long anyway)
For the sake of clarity, i've never met or spoken with Gaxxy. So no, we're not 'bum chums'.

However, i have been through a number of engine replacements. The first engine was replaced twice due to dealer incompetence. But i wasn't told that at the time and the blame was firmly laid at Honda UK's door. Consequently I also had dealings with Honda UK who were useless.

Getting a good dealer on side makes a huge difference and in this case Gaxxy seems to have more than stepped up to the plate in trying to assist Bokkie as much as possible.

What you are suggesting that Gaxxy should be doing is unrealistic and unhelpful. Gaxxy can only act on what Bokkie asks of him and is also limited in only being able to act on what Honda UK tell him and can only fit parts supplied by Honda UK.

As for my rudeness, I'm only rude when i feel the situation or individual deserves it.

p800bry, that's a really kind offer. I'm in West London and may take you up on th offer, but will see how things pan out over the next week or so before putting you through the hassle.

I tested another 09 yesterday that sounded fine and am heading over to a dealer to try yet another today. Will keep you posted.
S2KStar - I'm near your location and happy to help if you need a comparison of engines for the Honda or dealer.

"Engine Replacements Under Warranty" has now been setup as a new topic as suggested by Bookie. This should help keep track of extent of the problem that some of us are facing.

I have a 2009 s2000 which has developed exactly the same tinny rattle between 2-3000 revs. I've had the valves checked and top end inspected as much as possible whilst the cover was off. Noise still there and am now out of ideas what to do about it. Did you ever get to the bottom of your engine noise.
