Using the offset comparision against OEM 17" here

The front would be 21mm further out - that will rub the liner & tabs
The rear would be 27mm further out - that is also likely to rub
You might get away with not lowering it and loads of camber
IMHO I wouldn't bother compromising the geo just to get the look

You need to stick as close to the OEM 17" as possible
OEM MY04+ wheels are as follows:
Front: 17" x 7.0", +55 offset
Rear: 17" x 8.5", +65 offset
I know the front will be ok at stock height because I've ran a 8"/17/et 48 on mine lowered by 45mm. The tabs did rub when hard cornering but that's because I'm lowered.
The rears are different as I haven't used anything that wide/ low offset. At stock height though I can't imagine they would rub?
I agree that the look won't to be everyones taste. Unless you lower and mod the arches.
One last thing, can anyone give me a reason to goto a bodyshop and have them roll my arches rather than me just removing the inner tabs with a grinder?
It's just that I don't know of a good bodyshop that rolls arches around here.
