I tried an RX7 last week...

A standard one was pretty impressive. The guy said he had been in a 400+ bhp one recently and he was absolutely shocked by it.

I need that in my life

But obviously the reliability becomes an issue, as does 5-15 mpg

Which is where the S2000 wins.

Can't have it all!

(but a good RX7 is about 6-8k now )
I've thought about an RX7 plenty of times, my mates got one and it is a lovely car but i'm thinking of a 200sx next, either s14a or an s15, my mates got a 350bhp 350lb/ft one and it's awesome

Plus it's also reliable, fairly light, cheap to mess around with, handles good and on the motorway will still get +32mpg!

I wonder why mine sits there all the time, doing nothing.

Then the sun comes out!

It's probably a form of seasonally affected disorder.

Mind you, I'm not one of these wavy Mavises who changes his car like his underwear; It takes me years to find a car I actually like, so I tend not to get bored with it.

Even had a passenger ride in an MX-5 yesterday; I remember why I liked mine so much. They make one smile.

3rd Generation twin turbo RX7 are fast! My father had one many years ago.

They still look "okay" 13 years on.

[QUOTE=MB,Nov 22 2007, 10:09 PM] That's why they are bloody cheap right now - if you find a good one with upto 400 bhp id think it would be a great bit of kit. But

Thanks for all the replys guy, I think im gonna stick with the s2 because i know i would regret it as soon as the sun comes out!
A couple of you guys suggested weight saving, on the cheap, what can i do to save weight and not spend much money or lose comfort? the only thing i can think of is to take the spare wheel out. Would it acctually make a noticeable difference to performance/mpg?

Nothing other than ditching the spare tyre.
