Arrow I've broken the EPS system :(

Today i disconnected the plugs on the steering rack while the car was started and when i plugged them back in, the eps light on the dash stays on and the steering is heavy. What have i done? Ive checked the whole forum but i cant find anything related. Please help, the car is doing my nuts in.

See my post on one of your other EPS related threads. The fail-safe relay is most likely to have stuck on.

It's a bad idea to unplug anything when the car is running. If you need to do it, switch the car off first. As for the car doing your nuts in...I bet your S feels the same way about you! Naughty naughty!

Before you do anything just drive the car 200/300yards and it will most likely correct its self - light out, steering as normal.

Mine did that after I buggered the speedo convertor, and fitted the new one.

Got to the end of the road and it sorted itself.
