Running a K&N FIPK in the desert, I experience no significant heat soak outside of a sitting still on the hottest days and even then I wouldn't attribute it to the intake alone. I wrapped the outside of the intake arm and the "box" with gold, heat-reflective tape and this keeps the temp of them low enough that I can rest my hand on them without discomfort when hot.

I didn't find heat soak a problem with my fipk. Much better than the oem air box. Doesn't seem to get the wafts of warm air in quite the same way, being in the corner of the engine bay instead of directly above the radiator.

Found the Snorkel works well, minimum bogging sounds great

I found it an issue in my old S2000 just on very hot days in traffic. It was worst in Italy during the summer when I couldn't creep forwards with traffic and instead bunny hopped my way along.

That said no idea if stock would've had the same issue, especially in Italy as it was seriously hot.
