Bada,

if you don't get fired for not making your monthly target soon

and subsequently one day you can afford a faster car than the go kart you drive now

will you troll the elise forums this much?

I don't have a pathetic job which requires me to hit monthly targets.

I don't troll these ones. I just hold an unpopular opinion.

Despite the other 30bhp/ton the S2K somehow dramatically loses out its advantage to the Civic. I don't know how though, the 30bhp/ton a Civic had over my little Saxo VTS was very noticeable, but from the Civic to the S2K, there is bugger all difference, and like I said it's more down to a Civic driver having rather softer limits than the S2K's. I suspect it's gearing. The 4.57 ratio final gear in the S2K really helps acceleration, to the point that it would convincingly outpace a Civic.

The Civic will understeer if you get it wrong, if you are too ambitious in the S2K you'll more than likely head into a corner backwards as the S2K doesn't know what understeer is. Which is both a blessing and a curse.

For a properly fast topless sports car, look at TVR Tamora (costly to run) or a 987 S Boxster (costly to buy), or Elise R - "impractible" (sic).

The S2K is a good compromise. Medium speed, medium handling, medium running costs.
It depends what scenario you'd for a "word" race.

From a launch, a dig etc

Me personally in all encounters stock, i have pulled away from a CTR, gently!

Youve got to know exactly how to drive the S and keep it in the band. If your caught sleeping your knackerd.

Saxo_boys point RE gears, wel lits a different story i must of pulled a few cars lengths very convincably past my friends CTR MY04 with a filter on. On this note an Astra VXR too.

As far as a point made earlier about sports car, i kind of agree, hot hatches are hot hatches and most keep up with the S.

The s isnt as fast sports car as it used to be for a 2.0 litre its bloody amazing! but its 8 year old now and that 2.0 litre wouldnt stand up to most things now, most hot hatches can compete, thats where the likes of an elise or vx220 turbo would come in, this side of 27k.

For me though i couldnt think of a better sports car with the refinements looks etc, id only consider a vx220 turbo but not as a daily drive.
