i agree with bada (for once).. the tamora is significantly faster than an S2.

and an elise.

i think you overstate your cars performance though bada, maybe you're sensitive because you have a compromised elise

with a lifestyle paint job

Elises feel a lot faster than the S2000 - even ones that are actually slower! I don't doubt the 111R is faster but not by much I'd guess. Pretty much any TVR will monster both of them in a straight line though!

The 0-60 for the S2K is 6.2 secs, against a TVR that does it in 4.5secs and then hammers on to 160mph, I would not call that difference marginal. You don't honestly believe that do you? It's got almost 300bhp/ton vs the S2K's 190bhp/ton!

I didn't enter the thread to justify my purchase, I posted my experience of the S2K vs a CTR. Then some tosser asked me about my Lotus, which was then of course going to get people's backs up.
Why the name calling? Very childish... got to love keyboard hard men

Early S2000, 0-60 6 seconds, various testings have got that down below 6, top end over 150. (ive had mine to 153 on the speedo and it was still pulling)

So 1.5 seconds and about 10 mph or less for

I have seen about 4 CTRs on the road, each one was beaten easily.

Really can't see how they are as fast as a S2000. My mates old 240hp DC5 was pretty similar to mine from 20mph rolling start.

It comes completely naturally mate, and well within speed limits.
That confuses me slightly

I don't know any modern car that is hard to drive within speed limits

Obviously there are exceptional circumstances, such as trying to take very sharp bends at 70mph.....

But in the vast majority of situations, it's all very straightforward

The big differences between cars only become noticable at much higher speeds or, I guess, on a track

It's why owners of things like turbo diesels like to bang on about their car being as quick as mine 'in the real world'

They neglect to mention that in that world, which involves scameras, congestion and poor roads, a 70's Cortina is as quick as their TDi - in other words, all mechanical and driving advantages are cancelled out. It's why beaters aren't a pain to drive

The fun starts on empty roads or tracks - where TDi owners (and Cortina owners) discover how fast their cars really are in comparison to others......

So how come MIRA managed to get 0-60 in 5.5s and Evo said they were disappointed to only get 5.8s cause the car they tested had a slipping clutch.
