How are these tires on AP1 16" rims? Would you guys suggest upgrading to a 17" wheel to run these tires?
They're great on AP1 wheels as well. I've tracked them numerous times over the past couple of years.

No need to "upgrade" to 17".

i have been running oem size (215/245) star specs (on ap2v1s) and i love them, but for my next set i definitely want to upgrade to 255s in the rear. im having a hard time deciding if i should keep the 215s up front, or move up to 225s. my car is stock height so im not concerned with rubbing, more worried about making the steering feel too heavy as well as sidewall flex up front.

has anyone put 225s in the front and wished they had kept the 215s?
Most people run 225/255 but I recommend a larger front sway bar, like a CR, AP1 or better FSB. The car is more balanced in transitions and tighter sections.

I need to replace the rears only on my AP2. Has anyone run Star Specs in rear but RE050 (until I can wear these out) in the front? Would this drastically upset the balance/handling of the car? This is not my preferred setup but I still have ~50% left on the fronts.
I've been considering doing the same with either the Star Spec's or DW's.. I'm thinking of just doing all four now though.. as the fronts aren't too much and it seems like less hassle.

I'm looking for a daily tire that I can take on the track more as an occasional thing than as my focus for the purchase. I like the Star Spec's, but the fact that I'm in Buffalo has me worried about driving them once winter, but it is still near freezing. The thought of a light dusting in April and them being completely useless was also something I was trying to take into account.

The Star Specs are not to be trifled with in below 40F degree weather. A local here just wrecked his S last week due to summer tires on a cold day, please don't make that mistake.

Anyone running 265 Star Specs in the rear? I am in the market for
new tires and if I can go to 265s in the rear without rub (1" drop on
Eibachs) I would like to do that. Would be put on AP2V1 wheels.

I'm having a hard time finding tires that are capable of grip.. but also capable of such days. I hate to go with performance all seasons in order to get another month of driving, sacrificing the rest of the summer. Any recommendations on tires to look at that might not be on par with the Star Specs once it warms up, but still a tire worth having for the summer?

Try to find a spare set of rims. I use AP1's when I dont feel like using my RPF1's with Summer tires. Then again I am in San Diego where weather is not an issue 99% of the time.
