It isn't for winter, just for the cold months after the winter. End of March early April. The S2000 hangs out in the garage for the winter. She's too pretty for snow.

My front S02s are at 70% left and the rears are bald. So, replace the rears with more S02 for $356. Or run 4 Star Specs for $120 more? Also considering AD08 for $200 more than the two S02s.

Edit: On AP1 wheels

I've been waiting for someone to try mixing S02s (front) and Specs (back). I'll be trying it prolly in about a year or two since I have a pile of tires already purchased waiting to go on the car.

If you are interested, try it and let us know what you think. I don't recommend putting Specs on the front in AP1 size.

You need to stop trying to impose your opinions onto others.

Many people, including myself, were very happy with star specs in oem ap1 sizes.

Ok, Mr. Consistently disagreeing with me and has consistently posted his own opinion. I will consistently state my unwavering opinion (while ignoring the more troll-like comments). touché mon frere.

Welcome to the internet. We are mostly friendly here with a dollop of disagreement. Disagreement is no cause for anger, and is to be expected

(Edit: I forgot I was ignoring some troll comments a while back)

Lol who's getting angry? Not me.

I could care less about arguing with you, as I'm not one to pick fights over every little thing. I just don't want you misleading others.

Are these tires a little squishy? Yes. But the ultimate grip is definitely there, and the performance to cost ratio for these tires is excellent when compared to anything else available in ap1 sizes. Go try some dunlop sportmax TTs. Now those are squishy.

I disagree with you because I, along with many others, have also ran these tires on oem ap1 rims, and have come to a different conclusion.

Your previous posts all consisted of testing these tires in a parking lot and complaining about the "feel". Feel is not the end of it all, ultimate grip is even more important.

This quote is the TL;DR, and for those just tuning in, this sums up his rant and how we disagree.

I think that feel is everything, predictability is secondary, and ultimate grip is third or fourth on the list. I only want tons of grip when I'm attempting to be competitive on a race track, which I have slicks for that.

I hope that helps you make your decision easier for what you choose to purchase

Well.. fair enough I suppose. You'll find that most will not put feel above grip.

Btw for future star specs owners, I never found them lacking "feel" at all.

Have a nice day.

Ok, squishy argument not withstanding.... Do I replace two tires or four? The S is new to me so I have zero experience with the S02s. I'm not interested mixing tires. I'm interested in whether the Star Spec (regardless of Tire Racks class system) is much better than the S02.

For a first time user that is learning about the car, go for the S02s, as they are what the engineers of the car picked. The cost is there for a good reason with their well rounded performace. If you decide that you want more grip, you can switch to the Specs if you want. I'm almost positive that someone would buy the S02s from you gently used, I just bought a gently used set myself to put on my car.
