Good hear, I'm still debating whether to go with 7.5" front and 8.5" / 9" rear for the AP1. If rubbing on the inboard edge doesn't seem to be an issue, then I'll go with 9" to give more flexibility in tire width choices to maintain proper staggering of tread width.

9" wheels certainly won't be a problem, that's only 1/2" wider than the AP2 stock wheel. Guys are running 10s without issue.

Always go with the wider wheel if given the choice. Better to put a narrower tire on a wider wheel than the opposite.

What offsets are you considering?

Cheers
Ken

I'm thinking about getting the 17x7.5" +48mm and 17x9" +65mm. This appears to be the best combo that I've found so far for aftermarket rims that's closest to stock geometry and allows for putting more rubber on the ground.

Mine is the AP1 and will be running 0.75" wider on each side than stock (7.5") with the 9" rim. Any idea if the suspension geometry is any different between AP1 and AP2?

Yeah, the geometry is a little bit different in the rear... they reduced the bump steer. Won't affect what you're doing, though.

Have fun.

After reading this thread numerous times I'm starting to understand it. I am looking to get the 5zigen FN01R-C, when I look on the 5zigen website the specs they provide give a 17x8 +43mm rear or 18x8.5 +48mm rear. From what understand wouldn't i need to run with a higher offset such as a +55mm or +65mm? The offsets for those rims do not go higher than +48mm. I plan on running with a 17x7 +48mm in the front. I read the guide and I just want to make sure that I understand everything clearly before purchasing anything. Thank you for your time.

Well, all you need to do is look at the offsets you have and pick out the lines in the first post pertaining to that offset.

Your front, 48mm:

Yep, bad.

IMO never go backwards... get something as wide, or wider than stock, not narrower. And especially, keep the stagger. Stagger is crucial.
