So, from looking at the faq, I need the following to fit 225/45/17 and 255/40/17, I need the following without fender/camber modifications:

225 tires: +53 offset minimum (7.0" to 8.0" wide wheel)
255 tires: +50 offset minimum (8.0" to 9.5" wide wheel)

Does anyone know what rims available are within those specs? Just want to see what my options are.

I am having a hard time finding wheels that fit for my 07 S2000. I want to run the following competition tires:

225/45/17 Nitto NT01 front
255/40/17 Nitto NTo1 rear

I found the Rota wheels to have a decent price. I found the exact size for the front:

Rota SDR 17x7.5 5x114.3 +53 offset. That should work according to the chart in page 1.

The Rear is more problematic:

Rota Slip Stream 17x8.5 5x114.3 +48. The chart in page 1 says that I need at least +50 to run 255 tires.

Is it CERTAIN that the 2 mm are going to make a difference when it comes to rubbing?

Has anyone tried +48 rims on 255 tires and found them to rub in the rear?

It isn't certain, and you can be sure that 2 mm is way more than the tolerance of the chassis, suspension, wheel, tire, etc. This means that when you are that close, you may only be able to answer the question by trying it.

If you are racing your S2000, you may be running additional negative camber in the rear, which may give you some extra clearance. Also you may be willing to roll or pull your fender.

Lots of people find ways of fitting low offsets on the S2000; you will find some threads where people say a +38 offset works just fine. But be careful; some of these mods are done via "function follows form" so if you plan to race this car, you may have to rule out some of those options.

It's a risk, but I think the risk is low in your situation. I would give it a shot.

Cheers,
Ken

Sure, it will fit if you use a 225 on the back. (HINT: Don't do it.)

thanks...now if i did roll my fenders which is pretty easy, is the offset fine for it to not buldge out and look like crap for the rears? thanks

also will a 275 or 285 be fine? thanks

You're not going to get a 275 on there unless you can find an entire extra inch of clearance. There are some guys on the forum that will tell you it will work. Yes, you can MAKE it work. Pull (not just roll) the fenders, get crash bolts for the rear suspension so you can run some ridiculous amount of negative camber, etc, etc. Then you end up with a big fat tire under there that doesn't work effectively.

Find a set of wheels with a higher offset. It's easier, cheaper, and safer in the long run IMO.

Cheers,
Ken
