I have a 04S2k, Im plannin to go on a 6 hr road trip from VA to NY(Upstate).

I was searchin and couldnt find an answer exactly...
I was wondering if it would be safe to put on 16inch wheels with snow tires, but the only thing im worried about it, is that its not staggered.
The 16" wheels are off an 01 stock prelude wheel.

Let me know if u guys think this would be safe for a 6hr road trip. ASAP
thanks

18x7.5 +48 fronts and 18x8.5 +43 rears

what size tires and how much work to make them fit?

Will a simple fender and rear quarter roll be enough?

Hello, I'm pretty sure I have the offset thing down, I'm looking at a 17x7.5 48mm(215-45-17) for the front and a 17x8.5 45mm(245-40-17) for the rear. As for the center bore measurements, I know the fronts are 70mm and the rears are 64, but Prestige has a 70.1-70.3-70.5 listed.

which one is correct?

Alright, don't flame me please. lol.

i'm assuming the charts are all according to STOCK HEIGHT, correct?

Well, if that's correct, then I can't fit:

17x8 +45 RPF1's in the front
17x9 +45 RPF1's in the rear

with:
225/45/17 front tires
255/40/17 rear tires

Without rubbing on STOCK HEIGHT.

Correct? I'm just double checking, lowering+camber tuning is not an option for me for now, just need a set of rims for a quick swap when I come home for vacation. I want verification because I see posts of people saying they've bought these exact rims and they fit fine, but there's no sign of their suspension setup.

Any feed back would be great.

Thanks.

For stock height, yes.

No.

For the front:
Offsets lower than +43 are not recommended on the front because a very narrow tire would need to be used to avoid rubbing.
+43 to +47 offset: 205 tires, 6.5" - 7.5" wide wheel
+48 to +52 offset: 215 tires, 7.0" - 8.0" wide wheel
+53 to +57 offset: 225 tires, 7.0" - 8.0" wide wheel
+58 to +62 offset: 235 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel
+63 or higher offset: 245 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel

For the rear:
Offsets below 40 are not recommended for the rear because a tire narrower than the stock tire would need to be used to avoid rubbing.
+40 to +44 offset: 235 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel
+45 to +49 offset: 245 tires, 7.5" - 9.0" wide wheel
+50 to +54 offset: 255 tires, 8.0" - 9.5" wide wheel
+55 to +59 offset: 265 tires, 8.5" - 9.5" wide wheel
+60 to +64 offset: 275 tires, 9.0" - 10.0" wide wheel
+65 or higher offset: 285 tires, 9.0" - 10.0" wide wheel

Did you see the Tirerack info I posted a few posts ago?

That's what fits.

I see, thanks spa.

anybody have any suggestions on offset friendly wheels for the S2000?

Edit:
So i've been getting different suggestions, some people say 17x8/17x9 +45 with 215 F/245 R won't rub, some say it will rub..

Can anyone verify?

Ok guys,

You are probably sick of hearing about rim fitment on S2000s but I need some help deciding if these will fit mine or not.

My car: 2000 Honda S2000 AP1 with TEIN lowering springs (3/4" drop).

The (Ruff Racing 278) Rims:

FRONT--- 18x8.5 offset +35

REAR--- 18x9.5 offset +45

Bolt pattern is good. Its 5x114.3.

The tires are 245-40-18.

Will the tires clear the fenders that are not rolled? Will they also clear the struts and brakes?

Did you read the post two above yours? Or the very first post in the thread? The answer is right there. Look at your offsets, then look at the tires you can fit.

If you still can't figure it out, let us know.

I'll copy this again from the first post.

For the front:
Offsets lower than +43 are not recommended on the front because a very narrow tire would need to be used to avoid rubbing.
+43 to +47 offset: 205 tires, 6.5" - 7.5" wide wheel
