Ok, a lot of info to absorb learning a lot. I want to spacers on the stock ap2 rims and maybe wider tires.
So:

20mm front=et35
25mm rear=et40

Or

15mm frt=et40
20mm rr=et45

Or

15mm frt
25mm rr

Or

Just space the rear

With 215/245 or 225/255s

Opinions and which combos work best with no rub at stock height.

Thanks in advance

From the table I get that I can run a 7.5" +48 up front on 215s and a 9" +45 in the rear on 245s on stock suspension.

I want to know that if I decide to lower the car, would I need to roll/relocate bumper tab? I know that neg camber increases as you go lower which will give additional clearance but will it be enough to not roll or relocate the tab?

Thanks!
same question,
but I have a KW v3 and camber -2° ant -3° post.

thanks

you'll probably rub on that set up.

Well that's fine; you don't need it at stock height.

It won't. As soon as the suspension starts to move, the camber gain pulls the top of the tire in.

Trust me, the chart is accurate. It's not a guess, it's data compiled from actual users. In fact, it's on the conservative side. People have gotten away with lower offsets than shown here.

I have just browsed through most of this thread, not because I'm looking to change wheel/tire fitment (bone stock) but rather out of interest.

I must say that I have never seen a longer running thread with this much good information and an OP/resource person with such incredible patience in answering the same questions over and over and over.

Kudos to spa-zz for keeping your cool year after year. This is an unusual forum in that most folks have a similar, helpful attitude - although not always to this extent.

Thanks spa-zz for setting an incredible example. This was a good read.

I have read through the fitment guide, but still want to pose a question because I have to pay to swap the tires and once I do that, I want to make sure that they're ok.

I have some 18x7.5 wheels + 43, but the tires are 225/45s... so I'm worries that they will rub due to the tire according to the fitment guide.

I'm not lowered and running stock camber.

Side question - would running 225/40s gain me anything?

Thank you for your help (Ken I hope!)

Yes. Just how much would be hard to say but 225/40/18 is the best match to stock tire diameter.

I'm looking to get AP2 size tires for my AP1. The set of wheels I'm leaning towards on TireRack is the Enkei EDR9s.

It looks like the fronts will fit just fine, but the rears have me a bit concerned.

17X8" wheels with +45mm offsets for 245-40-17 tires. Bolt pattern 5-114. 6.22" backspacing.

Will this cause rubbing (with a 200 lb guy sitting in the drivers seat, lol)?

Car has not been lowered and the alignment is still stock (at least I think the alignment is, I haven't changed it since I bought the car used).

If you have time, read the whole thing. It contains a lot of useful information that will help you choose wheels and tires that fit the S2000 properly. If you dont have time, skip down to the What fits section, and follow these instructions:

      Background:

Hey all, pulled the trigger and bought a set of new wheels. I've been doing quite a bit of reading about offsets and sizes and checking out other peoples setups to see what I liked, and what I could live with on a daily basis.

I decided on Work Emotion XD9 17X8.5+42 Fronts and 17X9.5 +38 Rears. I chose these based on how much I really liked the set on Vic's (07GPWVert) car. If I recall Correctly, his rears are +44 but the way the XD9s are I don't think 6mm is a very big difference as they don't concave anyway.

So, on to the series of questions, I understand that for the sizes I've chosen many people recommend a light roll in the front and a full roll in the back, I consulted the wheel fitment guides and looked through the picture threads to try and find some answers and I really can't so that's when I decided to make a new thread.

      Questions:

Is a roll really necessary for these offsets on a car that hasn't been lowered at all and won't be for the near future?

If fender rubbing at stock height is not an issue, is it possible to run slightly wider than stock sized tires?

If fender rubbing with wider tires is an issue does it make sense to run stock tire sizes with this wheel set given that the car won't be lowered at all?

Does anyone have experience with these offsets that can give me an Idea of the process to get the fenders rolled? I see there are a couple recommendations of who to go to for a good job, but I'm wondering what to expect, do I need to have tires mounted to the new wheels or just show up on stock wheels?

If all else fails is it advisable/possible to dial some negative camber in with stock suspension parts to assist in clearing this setup?

      Got new wheels
      Used the search button
      Have a stock ride height
      Will it fit?
What do I need to do before going to have fenders rolled?
