2. Backspacing = Distance from inner wheel lip -> bolt mounting surface. (+ number only)
If those two terms are correct, then the numbers I have below should have the same backspacing, and would be equivalent to adding an extra 1.5" lip to the outside of a stock wheel. Correct?

Stock Front: 16" x 6.5" +55mm offset == (6.5 x 25.4)/2 + 55 = 137.55mm backspacing
New size: xx" x 8.0" +36mm offset == (8 x 25.4)/2 +36 = 137.60mm backspacing
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stock Rear: 16" x 7.5" +65mm offset == (7.5 x 25.4)/2 + 65 = 160.25mm backspacing
New size: xx" x 9.0" +46mm offset == (9 x 25.4)/2 + 46 = 160.30mm backspacing

If all that is right, my only other question is how much more backspacing can be had on front/rear before running into problems on the inside of the wheel/tire?
so from what your saying is if i was to run 9 inch wide up front i can get away with an offset off + 24 and rear i want to run 9.5j and i will need an offset of + 40?

i am only asking cause i am looking for a set of wheel for my s2k and i got myself js racing type s bodykit i dont want to go 18s i want to stay 17s no paticullar reason except i hate the look of 18s. Getting a 17" of 9 inch wide wheel in 20+ offset is not a problem but rear in 35+ will be in 9.5j specially for the wheel i plan to buy.

'05 ap2 lowered 2" with fenders rolled completely and spacers. Can I run 17x8 +35 17x9 +25 without serious modifications? ...and if I run these sizes am I going to lose all "function"?

Question: i have Ap2v1's, looking to purchase a set of hankook v12's. Is the 225/45/17-front 255/40/17 front/rear respectively a good setup? or should i just stick with the 215/245 that MY04 came with?

Is this the correct tire sizes? 225/50/16(Fronts),245/45/16 (Rears)
Im not 100% sure but i think i read on here that running 225 in the front with 245's in the rear will probably cause oversteer. also arent the ap1 rims/tires specs 205/55/16 in the front and 225/50/16 in the rear?

the front will fit but may poke a bit more than you'd like. with a little more negative camber you should be alright if you don't run a wide tire. 225 max i would think. but you will need a roll, a slight pull would probably be in your best interest.

the rear are pretty aggressive. i ran a 9+35 on the rear and it was very flush with the fenders, out of the fenders more so than in. with a +25 you'll need a roll and a moderate pull i would think.

this is all dependent upon your alignment as well.

you can run them from what i've seen but the speedo is off due to changes in rolling diameter. plus a 255 is gonna be a little pinched on the wheel in the rear. honestly you're better off buying a nice/more consistant tire than pay a few more $ for a wide tires. that all depends on where you live though, some people can't run summer tires year round like i can in central texas.

Okay so let's see if I got this right. I'm looking into getting HRE 18x7.5 +48 offset front. For the rears I'd like to have a little bit bigger lip so would a higher offset like
18x8 +65 be what I'm looking for. I also want to have the same tire width as factory CR's
HRE will machine them to what ever specs I give them so I was hoping to get this right the first time.

the fronts are good. you could even run a 8+48 on the front if you are not crazy low or runner a huge tire.

the rear you need a wider wheel (for more width for the lip you want) and more aggressive offset.

rears i'd recommend
8.5 +40
9+50
9+45
9.5+low 50s

the wider the wheel, and the more aggressive the (lower + #) offset the fatter lip. i wouldn't run anything less than +40 on a 9" wide wheel with out a roll. let me know if you still have questions

AP1, lowered and rolled fenders. Will 255 rub on a 9" rim +45 offset. Currently running a 245 with no issues. Will fit?

it all depends on ride height. do you have coilovers or just drop springs?

is this on the front or the back? if its on the back you should be fine. if on the front it very well could rub.

this also depends on the tire. some run wider than others. i had 245 on 9+35 and it certainly rubbed. but you have ten more mm of clearance.

are you running a square set up?

AP2. Stock height.

1. What would be the best staggered setup I could have without any fender work?

2. What if i was to lower the car a inch?
