That was proper good. I woke up early by chance, the usual suspects were leading about the 2/3rds half way point so I had a pee and went back to bed.

Got up and wow missed some great action. Looks like Mercedes don't have the monopoly on power just now.

May you race in interesting times

Guy at my gym has nicknamed him Versplaten, bit like Crashtenardo.

Default Idea for F1 punishments.

How's this a way making drivers behave a damn sight better. If a driver receives a penalty, time, drive through or position drop for all infringements but not mechanical replacements. Then both team members have to serve that penalty, it's a team sport so why not have a team penalty. So today both Ferraris would have got a 10 second penalty and last week both a 5 second penalty. This would stop dead any chance of someone being nudged off track to gain a team advantage, and would make cavalier or sloppy driving very unpopular. It would be unfair to put penalty points on the non offenders licence, buy would emphasise that this is a team sport.

After all if you concede a penalty in football, the actions of one player affects the whole team.

Is there any suggestion that Kimi deliberately hit Lewis to gain team advantage?
I thought that I heard Lewis comment on strange tactics by others during his podium interview after he had got over his hissy fit. If so, not nice Lewis!
I find it strange that a racing accident is deemed to be punishable. But have long since given up on F1 regulations.

The fact that he got a penalty says the stewards thought it wasn't a purely a racing incident, doesn't mean it was intentional just poor driving.
It's not beyond the realms of possibility that it was a team tactic, in the past a certain driver in a red car regally took side swipes at the competition.
My idea would render that useless as a tactic, and make for safer racing.

It’s an interesting idea. Of course, after a race like that there is left a lot of questions... I felt Kimi’s penalty stiff. Seb, though he had nothing to do with the incident, of course benefitted. I think, sometimes, you just chalk that stuff up to racing.
