Indeed a terrible time to sell. The 'e' goes from zero to £165pa tax in April 2025. Boy that will **** up the sell on prices with immediate effect. Let's wait and see what the cost of electricity and 'economy 7'-like tariffs give us. Not a hope they will/can fix the charging infra by then. Nails in the BEV coffin. The car industry is not going to be pleased.

Still, Carol's Smart car £30/pa looks safe increase by 1%

£ 165 pa is not a lot actually. A family meal in a restaurant with a couple of friends will probably be more.

It's more this equation
I bought the car at zero tax and 14p a kWhIt's now, apparently, more tax than many ICE cars and will be almost 40p a kWh
and the reason for this? Inefficient government. No other excuses, a shit show throwing money at the poor over fear of a revolt.

I hate waste, this government are a waste of space. They are engineering theft on a national level

Yes but my choice my disposable. Not some crappy part time WFH civil servants just cranking the money tree grinder cynically.

But what this plays into is to guarantee a Libdem-Lab-SNP coalition government and proportional representation.

At least according to legend Nero could carry a tune fiddling about while Rome burned

The winter fuel crap is paying £67 is it of my bill
I have never accounted for it, so I think my 32.2p kWh goes up by 20% to c39p. Incredible really, almost 200%. I think the inflation figures might be a load of bollocks

At 3.5kwh that is bang on 11p a mile. I honestly don't know what petrol costs today but let's assume 160p a litre, 726p a gallon
66mpge.. it's beginning to look very average but I could exit now for what I paid according to motorway.

I might do it and live without a sensible car for a bit

Sorry but not so the S2000 is very sensible. Two doubly so. They are appreciating assets nurtured by your incredible mech skills

edit: agree the Tories are (his)Tory. I am hoping someone from the Monster Raving Loony Party stands locally. Meets the definition of normal for Norfolk in a way.

I have quite a few cars, but mainly use three as daily drivers

The E, an Up GTI and a nice Porker

I've got a new FL5 on the way and want to chop one in

As cool and as nice to drive the E might be, I'm struggling not to choose it in light of latest developments

Tell me I'm wrong.....

Chris.

I'd ditch the Up but I hate them and it's based on my mum's 3 cyl auto only
It is a good time to sell it. Only thing stopping me is the hassle of finding something else for the dog to fit in and family use. Ride, fun, boot, reliable, 3 seats, free tax till 2025

It certainly does not stack up as a daily at the cost / run cost
but mine is worth £1k more than i paid according to motorway. 2 years and 10k ago.

So good on that front
