One of the reasons I gave up the GT86 was it was pointless to drive.
My commute is mostly 50~60mph speed limits. Go any faster than that and you catch up to a truck that isn't and next to no opportunity to overtake.
3~4 common spots for speed cameras to park
1 every 2 or 3 months major shunts hold me up where someone has pulled out of a side junction that has poor visibility and it looks like the car on the main road has been going too quick (subjective judgement by me).

These days my important criteria are:
- quiet so I can listen to ebooks and let my ears stop ringing from my darling children
- economical
- automatic so I can drink my coffee as I speed up/slow down through a bunch of traffic lights

Ad ain't it!

you want autonomous Fluff.. white goods transport.

i cant move to that until everyone else has as the twats are what causes most chaos here

i just want the commute to be short so i can do other stuff

They could, but people probably find it hard to adapt. Also, if the cells are full, you might be shocked by the unexpected absence of braking. HSD actually revs up the engine with the No1 MGU to waste surplus energy and provide braking, which is probably not as draggy as dumping into a discharged battery.

The problem with those warranties (the Leaf is well-known for it) is that they still class the battery as 'fine'. The answer will come when someone can take it apart and replace the dead cell(s) and it's nearly as good as new.

The service is available for Insights and CR-Zs and stuff.

When everyone is laughing at Honda es with their funny old wet-cell Ever Readies, I might buy one for buttons for a laugh. I do like colossal depreciation and Hondas are frequently good for that anyway.

i dunno, my 18 year old s2 has retained about 40% of its value from when i bought on 1500 miles i guesstimate.. now on 60 odd k and not increasing in our current climate

wonder what warranty Honda will offer. the replacement/repair market will grow with need i guess. Tesla quote 6k USD for the 3 i think..

Ignoring S2000s and NSXs...actually, Prelude values have got a bit silly compared to when I gave mine away. You'll still get a tidy Leg End for small change.

I think it's 8 years/80% or something. But 80% of what - there's not a lot of Duracell in an e. Of course, how to fix your Tesla battery is on You Tube! All you need is a Fluke, soldering iron and a defibrillator...

About the only thing that interests me about electric cars is what will happen in the context of the used market

At the moment poor people can buy a perfectly usable ICE car for under a grand and run it cheaply

What will happen as ICE vanishes? I'm struggling to see where the <£1K electrics will come from

the Leaf i quoted would be perfect..

ultimately its the challenge of clean energy though? its the poorest who are the dirtiest because they cant afford to not be

Admittedly, as with life expectancies, the divide between the haves & have nots will likely increase until full socialisation occurs. Then we'll all have not - aside from the elite.

The trouble with <bag cars in the future is they may well require a further bag spending on them to get through the next MOT emissions test.

I'm sure you remember electric milk floats holding up the traffic; that will be a future poor person in an eCorsa with a knackered battery. It'll keep going with no maintenance, just badly.

Where did they go so wrong? Keeping the boxy MK1 Golf styling would have seen me putting a deposit down:

It's Mk1 Civic styling, not Golf.
