Honda e

for me, a positive review on ride quality is good

i think the id3 is just a few months behind with better range and similar price.. doesnt look as cool though but may suit us better?

Just the sort of bloke I can see in that car, along with the odd hipster, Louis Spence a like and...girls
Peak geek
Thing is, the next-gen of Nickel Cobalt Manganese anodes is just around the corner; currently we are looking at around 250Wh/Kg at best, whereas the next lot should gibe ~300Wh/Kg (and require slightly less space) and I think the ID3 might have those new CATL batteries. So will the e208 and stuff.
If not, early ones will be like last year's smartphones once used. Which, if you don't need the range, might make them tempting.
These skateboard-specific cars ought to have a brilliant ride (and NVH) due to the sheer mass, low CG, RWD and wheels-at-each-corner design. I'd be benchmarking the Ebeneezer (or ID3) against the NSX (cheaper price-point dampers notwithstanding) and that might make a difference to the overall price perception.
I looked at the ID3 website and swore; it's really NOT marketed at my generation. But don't let that put you off the product.

Hmm. The ID3 is supposed to be mid 2020 and is a more family oriented size but i guess next year, when the Honda is in dealers, we’ll get a better idea.. as with all things tech it’ll be quickly obselete, my BM of 2008 vintage is a frickin antique now with its tater shat nav and vic20 graphics.. as will all these cars be in another decade or less
advances in battery tech would be good.. i dont want to recreate my Crapple days of hovering near chargers all the time

Mine for example has advanced range anxiety BUT likes the look of the e Honda.
NOT impressed with the Id3 in all those rainbow stripes.
And the wheels would be sold on eBay.
Nottm your sig is now

Even with the latest graphics, shat navs seem to tarry on roundabouts or junctions so you have to guess what they meant. So the old OS-map on a roll in my Leg End can actually be just as useful.
Bizarrely, there are few cars even now with its entire feature set. Especially now that multi-cylinder engines are passe and SH-AWD is NLA here.
At least there is some variance in EV design and technology, so that bit is interesting. Anything with a clogged-port DI Turbo four and dodgy ECUs bores me shitless these days.

Yes, too much marketing BS makes me want to defecate as well.
It'll probably be after the summer holidays that the Ebeneezer actually arrives - there'll inevitably be new-tech delays, as Honda's bottom-line is smarting due to recalls and they'll likely want to get this one right.

there is a 1.5 turbo CRV with a bit more grunt than her gasping barge but i really want to avoid shelling out twice
No sooner had I predicted an inevitable delay, this came up on Electrive re the ID.3:
"According to a recent report, however, it seems unclear whether the planned mass delivery start of the ID.3 – which has been under construction since November – can take place in the summer as planned. As local media reports with reference to company circles, VW is struggling with “massive software problems” with the ID.3. The electric model will be built for months with incomplete software architecture and parked on large parking lots. In total, more than 20,000 ID.3 would have to be reworked. According to the report, over-the-air updates will only be possible with the new software, which still has to be installed manually by employees."
You early adopters need to be brave and to be patient!
Mind you, delays to the 86 cost me a few thousand in repairs on the old Civic, so I have the early-adopter T-shirt...

One wonders whether Honda actually wants to sell these:

What were they thinking other than maintaining Honda's dreadful marketing ("Cog" aside) in Europe for the last 40 years.
