I admit none of my cars recently have been 'modern' but the pre warming feature is popular here already
car was plugged in this morning as you can see, it was pretty frosty
After a shower and shave it was good to go. Can be controlled on your key if your app isn't online yet (like mine)
Hassle free motoring. I wonder if the gAy1 does that?
That' wash & go thing's always been one of the major selling points of a BEV to me. Problem is, defrosting it again at the other end of the journey when it's not in-pluggable.
Looks like the e has suicide doors from that angle!

I'd thought the same about the doors As a daily for a short commute it ticks a lot of boxes. Your premium of purchase price is offset by running costs I expect. It's piss easy to drive with one pedal and handles well. It's not powered by some 2 cylinder monstrosity. Traffic is not a concern
Of course most people will look at range and shake their head but that is basic herd thinking, if it suits YOUR situation then who cares if it can't make it to Luton without a boost at the services?
I'd struggle without a 10 mins stretch and a trip to the LBR but that's an aside.. it's not for that but the batt is small enough to get juice fast
it's better than a qashqai. They should use that in the ads.
But her indoors has said several times already 'if someone crashes into the back of us the dog is dead meat'
that is the qashqai thinking I reckon. Soon to become a CRV then. Haha
Cloth seats and a dirty dog don't mix. I had her in the S2 but with one of those seat covers. Still messy so a no from me. She is comfy in the boot and can nudge around but a big dog might struggle if it was a fidget. This will be used for trips to North Notts Sherwood pines when lockdown eases (20miles)
I would prefer noone hits me but it does have collision avoidance or whatever it's called. Basic autonomy as well as stuff like lane assist and clever cruise
I didnt look at the ncap stuff other than knowing it did well for a small car. The vids and demo of autonomy safety are below https://www.euroncap.com/en/results/honda/e/41399
Not sure of the ergonomics or whatever it is but you would have to be parked front on to an immovable object for the dog to be dead meat rear ended hit.
Home schooling in crash deformation incoming. You could teach the nipper physics to avoid obvious aggro
Dog needs a harness and clipped into the rear seat then?
That's what I do - shopping goes in the boot.
Managed to get a tailored rear seat cover (for an Acura RL, of course) which helps. Leather is far easier to maintain than cloth. Actually, in most "premium" cars it's really PVC like my old pot's Hillman Hunter so is even easier...
Actually, Alcantara washes pretty well so is a good compromise. Nicer to sit on than German PVC too. Ever been in a cold Audi on a cold night..?

You have a Viszla dontcha Nick?
It's why I wanted a hatch, so dag could fit in boot. The angle of the rear window restricts headroom a bit otherwise even a big greyhound would fit
She usually starts with chin on seat top then settles down in the bed in there
Actually, Chase is a collie/labrador cross, but he does look a bit like a chocolate Vizsla.
He likes to sing along to Deep Purple (occasionally gets some of the cadences spot-on) so ideally needs to be within the sound-stage.
Typically lightweight The Apologist article, but the matter behind it is something very interesting to me.
There is something very bubblenomics about all of these grossly-overvalued (Say's Law about bad [fiat] money driving out good) BEV start-ups trying to re-invent the wheel.
However at least some of their wacky contraptions are at least interesting - and sometimes elegantly designed and engineered.
I seem to find the mainstream motor manufacturers extremely uninteresting or even utterly boring these days.
The evolution of the BEV may be a bit pointless, but I find it fascinating.
Perhaps it's because I grew up in an era when manufacturers were trying all sorts of wacky designs to make the ideal car. Now the survivors have all convergently-evolved into making essentially the same designs via the mega-corporations, it's all a bit tedious.
BEVs will likely do the same, but there is some technological way to go before that happens. And there will be some hilarious misjudgements in the process.
