I have had two Sony AV amps - both of which display a menu about source change that must be closed manually by clicking on the source you selected with the Sony AV Remote, this menu comes up about 10 seconds after you've started watching the source you selected. I sold both and replaced with Denons that do not have the same frustrating behaviour.
Another Japanese company so that goes to show there is some hope
I still use a Denon stack that lets me play cassettes.
It sounds pretty typical of Honda, and of Japanese companies in general. Good hardware and terrible software was a hallmark of Sony.
Remember Sonic Stage anyone? This was the Sony version of iTunes which was somehow worse than that abomination. It managed to lose Sony the portable audio player market.
Maybe it's a cultural thing?
Funnily enough, it seems VW is also having lots of problems with the latest touchscreen software in the Golf and ID3. Maybe it's an AXIS thing?
That's why VAG has set up the Artemis project.
Hopefully, the VW Tricity-Belling might actually work The No IDas don't...
The motor industry has learned the hard way that bolting on different black boxes the traditional way and expecting them to talk to one another is simply not working due to the complexity of interaction.
One of Tesla's advantages is it uses a central 'brain' for the whole car and it's slightly more practical. OK, they use a cheap memory chip that life-cycles out, but that's cheapskatedness. Same with the rest of the rubbish around the electrickery.
The legacy motor industry has been hampered by its traditions and are recruiting 'proper' software engineers belatedly. This is supposedly what justifies Tesla's ludicrous-mode market value.
Well generally the honda seems simple, it has a bunch of android apps but the issue will be when Google release an update. I expect android auto will cease working at some point unless Google, rather than honda, have been clever
you can see the issue here for dogs
Bit like my old dog Caro - he loved the Prelude, but was sceptical about the Leg End. Ostensibly because he used to slide around on the rear seat. The 'Lude's sculpted seats were perfect for him.
Chase has a basket like that - but he refuses point blank to use it. He preferred to drag it around the garden and shake it.
Lockdown one when she was 4 months old so not socialised with people and most of us in the house most of the time for her first year so huge separation anxiety
Given that she happily jumps in there to travel instead of being left alone in the house
Need another blanket over the seat back/top
fwiw Jessie doesn't use that bed in the house, hence my claim to it .. in the car she has no choice ha
Chase is a rescue dog (pert collie) and had huge boisterousness problems at first. So he got used to being excluded in the conservatory/garden for unacceptable behaviour and slept in there for a while.
Short doses of that might help build up Jessie's sense of security.
But the car feels empty without him, so he comes everywhere with me. One reason the garage queens never get used - playing sticks is more fun. Fortunately, most clients are dog-friendly. They need to be...he's a very friendly dawg.
Our neighbours got a dog just before lockdown and she gets upset when left, quite a vocal range, so now if they’ll be out for a while we have a house key and Nala comes to us, all the exercise advantages without the late night wet walks.

i think we will address the issue when the situation allows. it doesnt really have much impact, she came to the Honda dealer with me this week and we had a good walk while they didnt fix the shit app thing
@martin j you have a pooch as your av .. but i can appreciate the sharing bit, defo beneficial. ours is endlessly amusing but a bit of a handful with all the full parks and a love of other dogs. She played with a mans guide dog today, with his permission.. my god he was twice her size, biggest lab i have ever seen but still a lovely temperament and gave him 5 mins off work
Back OT around town in the current weather I have an AVG 2.6 miles per kw
a KW is c15p so 5.7p per mile
At 543p a gallon I make that a real world 94mpge.. in winter at its worst. Quite impressive.
plus I can get a bit of free gas and maybe look at a clever e tariff to charge in the wee hours
We are enjoying it, it's nice to drive, handles well and is just the dynamic side of comfy imo. The low cog is obvious in corners
one pedal and no gears is incredibly easy..
