Honda e
So.. distance in the e thoughts
It's very comfortable The boot is too small, you can fit in 2 cabin bags but not with the parcel shelf in place
it's quite refined at motorway speeds It's way less economical if you hoof it. Say you did, in theory, 80-90 for the fast part of an 80 mile journey, you would have a range of under 100 miles I think, if you stuck to 60 it would be much higher Climate makes f all difference in summer to range, it was most important these last few days The charger network is a bit wank. We encountered 2 rapids, one of which was in use and the other I didn't need (the 7kw was cheaper, healthier for my battery and immediately available) For occasional range use the e is fine but not really optimal. Could be stressful/time consuming if you wanted to get somewhere. Also you will drain battery quite fast hammering along. Having said that in the UK 80 miles or so takes some time and my back needs motion so...
I noticed BEVs are now pretty common in wealthy middle England (Warwick and Stratford) with Tesla being the most common by far

I park the S far away from doors, in the middle of open areas of empty bays, and still come back to find the only other car parked after mine, is in the space next to it, maybe now they’ll congregate around charging points instead.
My Boosted one was resprayed a few years ago now. Probably a few k miles ago.. I rarely use it, always park away
still has a new parking ding on the driver's door
I swear I will go to jail over this one day.
Another story about our under-developed EV charge point infrastructure, from today's Gruaniad.
Lands End to John O Groats cost him £88 takes 3 days w 2 overnight sleeps in the car.
Wonder what the limit is of how many apps you can fit on a smart phone?
(not to mention how vital a smart phone and signal are!)

Smartphone is crucial but my experience was chargers were present, just unreliable
zap map could give you a view of how bad it is
They need connectivity to get the signal to charge, just like my home charger, but seem to be on O2
I have no idea why they don't just make you ping in and out with a contactless card but...
I heard a story of how a guys cable got locked to a BP charger, another of how his e shut down from hooking to one their rapids
BP - broken point

As ex demo my car is part of the first registered fleet so just had its first service
cost feck all with the plan but I think they did feck all too, just a once over and hoover
6k miles so far (total), EST £257 fuel (at c3.5m/KW)
Cheap family motoring.. and way nicer to drive then a hybrid jazz. I now know (put your foot down, engine screams from nowhere but no change in speed)

Yeah think like Honda they have ****ed up their IT architecture
I got the app working, but to do anything it wants cash. Unreal.
So I'm oot on that
Used values holding well but apparently new cars can be had a few £k off list now. Our dealer had one demo, one showroom, they are very small. They are in the same locale as Audi, BMW and Nissan.
All are bigger. BMW is massive. Nissan sell utter shit. I don't think honda are appreciated here

Looked one -new- at Honda today, nice in blue, list at £33k ish, apparently the high output battery model, salesman reckoned 100 miles was the range, if I took it easy. No offer of discount though, but herself is not convinced.
