Honda e
Trundling to work this week, I heard on the radio that leccy car charging in some public places has skyrocketed.
Some expert has done the maths and they reckon its approximately 40mpg for electric cars using these "places". Likely motorway service stations, or anywhere south of Watford..
Add to the fact the degradation of batteries and lack of range.. Its just become paralysed as an option to buy IMO For now.. Unless they are significantly cheaper to buy.
I think the petrol / diesel ban for 2030 may get extended... Well, at least the petrol may be, subject to engine size / Co2

Agree Tony. No business case at all unless you charge at home and have solar
but equally hybrids are turds
So old it is. I'll stick with the 14mpg S2 and the mid 50s mpg XSR700
My car is still sub 10p a mile in fuel.. I paid £7.94 a gallon for squirt this week so >79mpge
It's time to remove this government, they are hell bent on destroying the working and middle classes

I'm getting mid 30s out of my 06 s2k as it's my daily. Yes, the tax is a killer but that comes part and parcel of the package, and its "afforded" into ownership.
I think the dealerships must be wondering how they are going to shift their stock.. Yet to be seen, as there is still some traction with orders and I'm guessing alot would be fleet.
It's almost become a scandal;
2018: Buy an electric car, save thousands a year..
However now, there's the potential to save sweet FA.. Or could EVEN cost more! Could it???
I'll wake up now... When the war is over, I'm sure it'll calm down and the Honda e will still represent a bargain overall against petrol and derv. Right now though, recession in full swing, Honda may do well like its competitors to drop prices a bit. Looks like they'll have absolutely no other option!

I did look at selling the 'e' and getting into a 3-month old Skoda Fabia. Annual cost of running at £2k versus £250 for the same depreciation put paid to that idea. Cost of charging at home sub 2p/mile. 5 year service package. Honda has quite a few nice new cars in the dealership to sell they ain't bothering with the 'e' really unless you push them. The new HRV hybrid and Civic hybrid are getting folks through the showrooms.
edit: that said the dealer in Letchworth bought mine for £27,500 but I bailed out.

Did I hear a rumour somewhere that Honda cars are pulling out of UK , seems like some Previously exclusive Honda dealerships are suddenly becoming Hyundai ect , John Banks in Cambridge for instance , they are also getting rid of thier showroom and the Honda bit is moving to thier back street shed workshop .

We too have Leon, 1.4 petrol, circa 45mpg and since my mum has just passed away no longer have visits to the care home, so 200 miles a month less, maybe half the annual mileage away, service it myself so future costs against purchase of hybrid/full leccy vehicle don’t work, we’ll wait until the war, energy, tax crisis goes away before thinking about a vehicle change.

Probably a matter of when rather than if
Weird times in the car world. Who ever gets their crystal balls right on the future will win. For sure I can't see them enforcing the end of ICE vehicles yet.
I achieve <2p/mile fuel costs on the 'e' but for how long? Not really worried no big miles to drive. If it went up x10 it would still be swamped by the wine budget
