Arsie - what batteries did you invest in? It is the way to go!
Batteries are branded 'Pylon' the controller is a 'Luxpower'. Now got 4 x 2.4kWh stack. Each unit costs around £1k. I self-installed my 4th. Control is either via an app from your IOS or Android but I mainly use their server based app from WIndows 10 desk. The people I deal with Keighley W Yorks https://homeenergygroup.co.uk/
Only downside is they break out a 2-gang mini consumer unit. This provides EPS (emergency power support) to 2 circuits one 32A ring main one lights. I have had to disable this as the thing triggers on normal appliance RCD failure which is wrong/arguably dangerous.
I did run the fridge/freezer once from the 'e' for an hour. Got the freezer back up to -17degreesC from -5C in half an hour
Cold weather and speed took a toll last night. The OH drove back from a place we went to for some food about 20 miles east of ours.. she got 3m/KW so going there and back used about half the range So you have to accept this car has short range, it's a number a lot of people ask me about and I think an easy comparator for some but misses the point of this little thing
I did a tip run and took the twisties back. It is a total blast to throw around and doesn't feel it's weight I guess due to the low cog and high torque (weight was a real bugbear for me in the BM and I don't get that feeling with this at all.. I suspect honda and BM have different scales )
Saw this too and wondered how it will work if there are no drives attached to the houses, does it mean lots of charging cables trailing across the pavements?

It's already fairly common in some heavy pop areas
I think bang em in lamp posts makes sense for such
It feels daft though. I paid £800 and that involved a box of tricks and a new consumer unit. The charger was c£500 so what is the point? Prepped for would work.
Latest economy is around 3.2 m per kw enjoying myself and pre heating because life is too short
However e juice is now 20p per kw, up c33%
I make squirt to be 690p gallon locally (joy) or 749 for the good stuff (had to fill the S2 this week)
so at those numbers I'm down to 110mpge.. supported by the gov cap on a STD variable energy tariff
lucky it's not gas powered as that went up 61%
I appreciate the e might be a hard sell to some petrol heads but this appeals to an anti tax ****er like me
Will have had mine a year in Jan.. in that time I can honestly say it's been great fun, super comfy and convenient and cheap as chips.. just tripped over 8k last week
Year 1
Service cost £0
Tax £0
fuel for 6k about £300-£350 (Vs £1.1k in the Nissan)
