Honda e
Buy one and you’ll want/need another in a couple of hours
, I remember Honda’s coming into the dealers(Jazz) built in China, 08/09, build quality was shocking, haven’t seen an MG from there I fancied, and I avoid ‘made in PRC’ if possible.

Totally agree Martinthe well made Honda's are Japanese built but not cheapI would not touch an MG. I struggle with many brands based on average exp but buy cheap, buy thrice
My e is on 12k now. Off to the smoke to pay my respects tomorrow.. to the office
.. probably be surrounded by twats on the way and will probably take the S2 to the station as it's gonna be nice

Followed an ‘e’ today cross country for a bit from motorway towards home, hard on the brakes way before every corner then floored it away to the next one, didn’t want me to pass obviously-I thought they were supposed to handle ok-might have just been a numpty driving, beat me to towns edge by 10 seconds, waste of energy.
Pretty nippy out of the bends, although not fussed about keeping up since I was gaining through the corners.

It does handle, you can feel the low plank and good grip
no match for a peddled S2 though
My dog prefers it
I had a Korean tank attempt to kill me in the S2 today. He was pootling, I went for overtake and he floors it. Too little was his tiny penis shitbox though.
Gave him the bird, pondered his murder briefly then ****ed off

The driver was so heavy on the brakes even for curves let alone corners I just let him have moment of ‘glory’, besides herself instructed me”let it go”, so I played yo yo and let the gap come and go, strange colour of mud on the car so it may have wrapped with advertising computer repairs printed on, hope he’s better at software than hardware.
Strangely this morning was in my Octopus account , they give prices and options for EV cars , the e despite being small and poor range is one of the most expensive available via Octopus , up there with Tesla and the like , not far of twice the mainly cost of ( admittedly no where near as stylish MG SUV ) , so I just find it hard to find this an economic prospect ! I know our loca, Honda dealer has had one in showroom for ages with a windscreen price tag in excess of £38k , did think of offering £25k , might work then , but with our mileage and occasionally long drives ! Across to south london just don’t see it for us
Made in Japan is now expensive.. they were 31k at launch with the gov discount
I question whether Honda actually wants to sell them though
and with current energy costs I reckon my 3.6m/KW will be about 9p a mile, at 750p a gall it's about 83mpg so a lot less efficient than it was
with your solar free motoring?
It's a fun little thing but I wouldn't pay £38k
Unless a Corsa was £19k

End of year 2 report for my sorely under-driven 'e'. Not so much a 'city' car more a Norfolk car.
In 3520 miles I have used 914kWh costing me £73 (mostly at home Octopus 'Agile' then 'Go' now on my second fix to August '23 at 7.5/35.11 per unit). Average 8p/unit and 2p/mile. During this time I have cranked it up to 4.1 miles/unit from what was 3.5 at first. The range from fully charged has averaged 123.5 miles, from 115 low to 148 highest recently. Nowadays I am not so manic frugal have used the aircon shock horror often.
Service 5 year plan was £599 and MOTs will be £80 ish for two I guess rubber will be £500 at the end of that time due to age not tread wear in my case. So if I say £50 per year 'fuel' then very roughly it will have been £300/yearly average for 5 years running costs. Thereafter servicing will cost ~£225 annually. I do expect my mileage to increase slightly now I have a strategy for mid trip refuelling at reliable dependable charge points e.g. Instavolt, Gridserve. At some point I might have to replace the lightweight 12v battery with something less flaky/more substantial but for now Honda say the thing is ok. I shall avoid flattening it again ...
Depreciation looks like £2.5k/year although as Jason says Honda are holding the new price ridiculously high.
But who cares if 2nd hand prices stay high for an iconic little car
