Why merge 2 crappy companies with lousy managers and failed business plans?
I (if I were in charge in any way, shape, or form), am caught between the bad decision of letting the U.S. car companies continue on this shitty path, or letting them go under, then waiting for the aftermath of the collapse of the supply chain.
Also, FWIW, Cerberus/Chrysler apparently has a lot of cash.
Also, lest I not be your favorite Unkie Trunkie: I had a friend (who I trust) put a brilliant bug into my ear -
GM's assets are still valued at around ~$110B. You may want to put yourself into a position to buy preferred bonds. . . if you can afford 'em.

If jobs were the issue, I would think that a solar panel subsidy of 90% would be a far smarter strategy.
That said, it may be a tough sell; people will want to know what happens at night.

Unkie trunkie, how can we market Lungis (the ultimate leisure wear) and get rich?
This is hippie wear, basically. The easiest way to immediate sales is through all of your stock granola boutiques/import stores/you-put-your-weed-and-patchouli-oil-in-it places.
Next, get a celebrity to wear one. Make sure this exposure is intermittent at first.
Then, create a version that is not only "American" sized, but also has easy-on, easy-off fasteners.
Get another celebrity to wear the easy-on, easy-off one.
Once there's enough sales to justify it, start making the "Rajilungi" with more American fabric patterns. Something simple to wear with a designer wife-beater might be the ticket.
Find a real fashion marketer to help out after the "Americanized" sizing and fasteners are figured out.
