If it invokes that visceral a reaction that quickly, chances are they're doing something right.

People listen to Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, and Ryan Adams because they need "rock," but in this politely homogenized and digestible form. It's the musical equivalent of apple sauce: it's been mushed down for your digestion. The singers are cute - it must be good. I saw Dave Matthews solo open for The Who. . . he was drunk. Completely bombed. It was awesome - he didn't care what you thought; he knew Bob Dylan was in the audience, and he was scared shitless.
You think so? It never occurred to listen to these artists to fulfill my need for "rock" (although to be fair, I also never thought to categorize them either).

I can't listen to any of those bands. I'd rather cut my stomach open than pay to see Dave Matthews.

8D, is shareall a female?

That's why I used the quotes. Rocking out means something to a whole bunch of different folks.

Some folks find the mellow strummings of those pantywaists more than enough rocakge for a day.

Either way, it doesn't change my opinion that it's mostly pablum. . . John Mayer and Michael Franti touring together next year could be just plain awful: either Franti is going to get mellowed out (doubtful) or Mayer will throw a hissy fit as he gets blown out of the water.

Tangentially related: over the last year, I've seen Michael Franti three times. . . and as his popularity has been increasing, the energy in the audience has been going down. Shirts have been cleaner, and I don't seem like the oddball anymore.

While I haven't absolutely verified that she is a female, she did seem delightful and lovely and feminine when I met her.

The cause of the zit in your particular case, would be stress (that's my best guess). I'd say just keeping it clean is a good first start. . .
