I think as long as we get good enought room rates a two day event would be worth it for most people. The track day makes for a nice picnic style outing if you aren't running the cars. We were totally blessed with the weather this year, should we do it roughly the same time next year?

with all those missed apexes? please........ more like $2.00

The above post is me being a complete ass as I am not worthy of even driving a golf cart around a track. I am continuing a joke made by speedy in another thread

carry on.....

I'm sure he'd offer you a discount ... as long as you don't complain about all the dirt in your lap afterward.

One new thing to help with the 'Ocala' idea ... is they have just finished building a new, outdoor, mall and shopping area within 1 mile of the interstate. The parking lot there is substantial and could host 100 cars easily. There are also about 5-6 hotels within a mile as well.

And i'm confident that the choices for food in that area are more than sufficient (SR200 is called 'Hospitality Avenue' here). Sonny's BBQ is only about 3 miles down the road but could easily cater to just about any location you could think of in Ocala (we have 2 Sonny's in Ocala )

But, there obviously isn't much here in the way of 'fun' entertainment. This is a bit of quiet town still and unless you enjoy looking at old houses, wandering through botanical gardens, or riding in a glass-bottom boat (Silver Springs) this may not be much fun.

I would probably suggest making Ocala the first stop on the way to Gainesville. Do a dinner night here with maybe a little 'honky-tonk' afterwards is about the extent of night life We do have 2 or 3 other clubs here ... so those are always options.

I agree maybe the raffle should be during or right after lunch, and group shot should be early in the day. But please next year try not to make it on the same weekend as gasparilla. But I loved the event,It was great. I cant wait till next year. and do we got SPGP @ Hardrock again this year?

Stephanie had a suggestion to post a list of raffle items at the table so when people are buying tickets they can see whats up to win.

I'm not sure if people were told to do this or not, but personally, my suggestion would have to be to have people put their real first name, as well as their their forum name on their name tag. There may have been more, but I only saw one person who had this done, and thankfully it was the person I was looking for.
I haven't seen anyone really address this. Am I completely off in thinking people weren't asked to put their forum names on their name tags too?

Or is this not a good idea for some reason?

oh no, it's essential I don't know anyone's real name. I call everyone by their username.

Maybe there should be a quick introduction at the beginning of the meet too where the CO's/Mod's/Senior Members/Sponsors introduce themselves?

Obviously it couldn't be everyone, but maybe just the "main" people?

As far as knowing who's who I definitely felt lost.

Thanks man, I'll be sure to look for you.

Doubtful I'll be at the SPGP, but I'll definitely look for you at the next meet, and feel free to PM me next time you come visit the swamp and we can meet up.
