We could even tie in a karting night for those unwilling to romp around in their S2k's at a trackday/autocross... we can use the karts at Ocala Gran Prix

exactly

Lots of great back roads for everyone with the time ... and smooth sailing here on just about any major highway/interstate. I've been told by a few folks in Miami that it is sometimes easier to get here than Orlando just because there is less congestion.

Let's not forget some areas just south of here as well like the Belleview exit off of I75. This is home to the Don Garlits museum and they have a substantial amount of space and a few good restaurants within WALKING distance

Don Gartis would be a good venue, I'm sure they would support a car meet. The park might not be so supportive. But they have cabins, awhich is always fun. Very rustic tho. NO TV and and you need to bring your own sheets. I don't know if hanging out in the parking lot of a water park appeals to me.

You're right ... i was just thinking that the back section of the water park has a lot of shade, is adjacent to 2 exits/entrances, and is very easy to find. There are several hotels there as well. Maybe just a rendezvous point on our way to Gainesville? I just didn't see enough parking at the Silver River Museum and was thinking of keeping that general location.
again ... presuming this will be a 2-day affair.

I dunno. I think we need to do some first hand investigation of the spots.

My thinking is, just like this year, we would have Saturday at a big happy park with catered food and sponspr tents, make arrangements for hotel (or cabins) and then the track junkies and race fans would group drive to GIR the following day.
