2011 Track Junkie Thread
I have a Schroth 6 pt (profi something) and it is by far the most comfortable harness I have worn. Comfort is important.
^I think comfort was part of my thought process behind the 4 pt.
My recaro does have the hole in the bottom cushions although I feel like I sit on top of the hole and it's more under me than in front of me. Is that a problem? The hole doesn't look like it's really big enough for a 6 pt. or the belts would basically overlap so I don't know that it would do more good than a 5 pt.
I want to do everything the right way but be cost conscious at the same time. I don't want to sacrifice safety but I will give up a little bit of comfort. If I was at the point of tracking the car very regularly comfort would become a lot more important to me but initially I might only get out 2-3 times a year.

What you should be really thinking about is how you are going to mount the sub belt. A 6 pt is easier to mount due to the undercarriage of the car. Look at rob's website for a writeup on this.
^I just read that write-up on his site
goldenfri, just how big are you?
What I'm really not looking forward to is how to get a set properly setup on the passenger side as I have an 06+. One odd thing they did for this year was the passenger side seat belt actually mounts to the seat and not the car anymore. I don't like that at all. Plus all of the other electronics under the seat.
I originally wanted the 06+ to eventually be able to utilize the flashpro but I'm finding more and more that I'd rather have picked up another 04/05

I second the recommendation for the Scroth 6 point, you can always leave the sub belt disconnected (not recommended) and call it a 4 point. You can also connect the sub belts to the same bolts the lap belts are connected to--not optimal but SCCA and NASA legal.
so you're the exact same size as me. I need to diet as well. Used to be just under 200 before I started the corporate gig and sit at a desk most of the day.
I never actually paid close enough attention to realize that the 6 pt. harness connects at the camlock with 1 buckle. I was thinking it didn't which is why I would have preferred a 5 pt. Makes perfect sense now looking at one.
