Sure wish that was the 890. I needs da RF capability.

Their price is good on it.. .but not that good. I've got a URC that cost much less. I can operate it fine, but it's too complicated for the folks.

Logitech 880 for $125 AR

figured you guys with 880 envy could use this.
I have the 880, love it ... it makes it a lot better for my gf to use everything too, one button press and everything turns on.

I may have to hold out for the RF+IR versus just the IR. When reclined in the back row, it's an inconvenience to lean forward or raise the remote to gain line of sight....

... boy, have we come a long way since the 13-channel dial television console sets.

so, I popped in Armageddon tonight and have run into a little bit of a problem - it's squished vertically... It's a 2.35:1 movie, which I know has SOMETHING to do with it, but the DVD player is set to recognize my 16x9 display and the TV is set to "pixel for pixel" or whatever - but the image is just not ... good, thanks to the vertical squishing...

Can't figure out what settings I need to change to make this work right.

Techie guy showed up Fri and hooked everything up. Working great. Bose system is really nice. One question you peeps may be able to answer for me. I noticed the tv volume on the regular channels is much higher than the HD ones, like about twice as loud at the same level. Any ideas why?

I've seen this too. Not necessarily just betweeen HD and non HD but between regular channels as well.

Dont know exactly why but letting you know its not just your set-up. z;0

Unfortunately its because of the way that HD is broadcast versus regular Stereo sound. HD broadcasts are in Dolby Digital, and generally speaking Dolby Digital broadcasts are significantly lower than Stereo sound. I'm not 100% sure on the reason why, but I've read its because the assumption is that you're using a receiver when listening to 5.1 Surround Sound and so you're able to amplify the sound more -- amplifying a cleaner lower source would sound better than amplifying a louder potentially distorted source.

Another possibility that might contribute towards it is that your receiver may output XXX watts when it is in 5.1 mode, and it may output significantly more watts when in stereo mode, so at the same volume your front speakers are being driven with more wattage.

You may also notice when broadcasters switch from Dolby Digital to Stereo sound for the commercials that the commercials get a lot louder -- Same reason.

If your receiver has anything called "Volume Normalization" or something similar you maybe able to enable that feature so it always tries to increase or lower the volume of the source to the same level before amplifying it.
