Remeber im a senior loan officer for a national mortgage company. I know all about credit becuase thats all i look at all day long. I know the market, what kind of investment, how much needed for a downpayment. where the market is moving.... This is what i do for a living.
No one doubts your profession, but if you really understood what you do for a living you wouldn't be in the situation you are in now....

Seems to me you have your heart on letting the S2000 go. So do it. But get into a very modest car until you get your finances in order. And let it be said, "equity" and "car" don't belong in the same sentence. This $22k EVO value is crap. You don't buy cars like houses. A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I see E30 M3s going for high $20k for car that is 17 years old. Is it worth $27k no, but someone is willing to pay for it. Evo's are hyped up econo-boxes with super high insurance. Sure they are fun to beat the crap out of but it's not for you at this time in your life. You are getting out of a car you are backwards on into a more expensive car you will be backwards on with higher insurance and taxes... This is a very poor decision.

I'm only 27, but I own a nice home in one of the nicest towns in CT, 3 cars and looking to buy a ski house all because when I was young, I invested and saved. Even if you bought a rental property by one of the ski mountains. Put your money into something that yields more money. When you go to work everyday, you want your money to go to work everyday too... You should be maxing out your 401k because $1000 invested now is worth 50x what it is in your late 30s...

Food for thought - but learn from the mistakes others have made before you.

Luke
