To do p90 correctly you need to be in pretty good shape. It's not a beginner's program. If you are out of shape you might do 25% of the reps the guys in the program you watch do the first time.
I did it after taking 3 months off due to knee surgery but prior to that i had a sub 21 min 3 mile time and was almost a power lifter in college in my weight class (165). It's not easy if you do it all correctly, I could only do about 90% of the reps they did. It's just going to abuse you if you are out of shape.

"Do your best, forget the rest!"
Ubetit-
I hear ya on the sweat, Plyo and Kenpo made me into a sweat rag every time. If you have the means to do pull ups WITH the chair, I would work towards it rather than bands if you can.
And I did get a horrible bout of lower back pain that I just pushed on through but if i had to do it again I might have eased off a bit.
Its really cool to see so many people giving it a shot. Maybe all the weight loss will make up for the lack of low end torque.

What I want to know is, any other of you guys developed a cult like mentality about it?
I'm always talking about it.. it's so good, it's so hard, gotta do my workout tonight.. I became a believer and it's almost an addiction now.
I'm having lower back pain on some moves myself, bicycles are the worst, my back gives out before my front does and I have to sit for a bit. The Chest and Back routine seems to do nothing for strengthening the lower back, so hopefully that my be addressed somewhere along the next 60 days

And I had the same lower back issues on the excercises you talk about. Except for "Superman-bannana" there aint much for lower back at all. I mean, there is stuff that seems to put stress on your lower back, but nothing design to strengthen it. And it takes some pounding in plyo too from all the landings.

i've been wondering about p90x, too. looks like it works.
guys who've done the program...if you had to separate the two aspects, which do you think is more attributable to the great results: diet or the regimen?

As far as diet versus workouts, just about everybody who is doing it is reporting positive results and nobody is following the diet. Following the diet will just enhance how much of a ripped ab section you want.
Workouts = thin and fit
Ad diet plan to get ridiculous low body fat/bulging ab look.
