Anybody complete the P90x program?
I asked to get this for my b-day. We'll see what happens. I've got my PE exam that I'm studying for all the time so I'll have to wait 'til I write that (Oct 23) but then my evenings and weekends are open.
A friend of mine is doing it (1/3 of the way through) and is down about 8 lbs thus far. He works out regularly (weights and jogging) and this was still very difficult for him for the first two weeks or so.

How is the program coming along? Are you following the diet?
Lots of soreness, especially lower back and have been very tired after most workouts. But results have been pretty good.
I am about two days from completing phase one or the first 30 or the 90 day program. I do not take their supplements but just drink a brand X protein shake after workouts. As for the diet, I do not follow it religiously, but follow the general concept of low carbs, limiting calories, protien fruit and vegetables.
After the first week I was down six pounds. Every since then even though I continue to look much slimmer, my weight has been coming back up slightly. Gained half of the six pounds back. My upper body is getting lean looking. My arms have lost some bulk look that I worked hard for over the years (cause I am built to naturally look like a beanpole) but it looks and feels totally chiseled. My abs are starting to really show and get more defined. If you ever see a basketball player who has some upper body strength but the arms just look lean and really defined, that kind of what this does to your body.
You will get out of the program what you put into it. You can dog it in some of the workouts, but if you are trying to jump high and throw hard punches and such, you will feel near collapse during a couple of the workouts. I started doing sets of about 8 pullups per set. Am now at about 16 which puts me at about 100+ pullups in an hour workout but the workouts switch up next week.
Don't think it won't be hard to do. It is. But if you stick with it the results follow. And DO NOT BE AFRAID TO PAUSE THE WORKOUTS. You will find yourself lightheaded, dizzy, exhausted and out of breath during the workouts. Pause, catch your breath and continue. I am still pausing a couple times each video because of the intensity.

THis thing is absolutely for real. I've ALWAYS been skeptical of workout videos and P90X is the first one I've purchased after nudging from my wife for months.
I was in shape to start off (6'2" 175lbs.) and usually hit the gym about 3 times a week and would do sets of 30-40 pushups every day-----After 2 weeks of P90X, I'm seeing results that I've never had (especially the ab section), and it was TOUGH the first week through
Definitely for real!

I was thinking of joining a gym. I'm 5'10" and was 120lbs in high school. I'm now 190 and have a nice buddha going on. I feel fat because I was skinny for so long. I'm 34 now, so it's time to do something. I have a friend that just bought this. He hasn't started yet. Think I'll copy his and go for it.
Just completed the last week of phase 2 although I am doing an extra week just because I have to travel and want the travel to fall on the "recovery week".
The results have been really amazing so far. About half my body fat is gone and my arms have leaned out but I am getting stronger. Abs are sticking out. This stuff reall works your legs and back which I had always neglected.
I have a plate loaded bench press machine at home and had been stuck doing three sets of 8 at about 265 pounds for months. Tried it the other day and ripped out a couple fairly easy sets of 10. First increase I had seen in a long time and thats just from doing P90X pushups.
Never thought I would see such quick results at ( a couple months from) 40 years old. Do I like all the workouts? No. They can suck real bad, but they work.
