anyone ever feel guilty for not working very hard?
Scot,
Didn't we have this same conversation several years ago? I have long periods of screwing off at work followed by a few weeks of intense panic and massive overtime. I figure all my education and experience is put to work for the company during those periods so I don't feel guilty about the screw off times.

I have had my fair share of crap jobs (driving range golf ball picker-upper, boat cleaner, janitor, coffee maker, etc), and I knew that there were people making tons more than me in the offices who didn't have to work 12 hours in the sun or avoid getting drilled in the crotch with a golfball by some punk 12 year old, but I didn't care because I knew my time would come.
That's the wrong outlook on a successful career my friend. In this competitive world as we know, there's always someone driving the car you want, and living in a bigger house, in this case I work harder to get what I want, that's what matters. The guys that do nothing with wealth accumulation, "minimum wage" their probably just happy to be around and don't give a damn about materialism. That's just my point of view, nothing intellectual. But the story was funny to an extent.
