I can guarentee there are several countries that have much more crime & violence than the US does.
I'm not sure that is something to brag about.

I doubt he's bragging, nor did he ask for anyone's opinions on guns and carrying them. not trying to be a jerk but if your not answering a question then maybe try no crapping all over his thread.

Well, AusS2000, are you serious? Pity? You pity the entire United States?? I bet those Aborigines children wished they had guns in the 30's.
I pity anyone that lives in as much fear as you project. Surely that is not unreasonable.

With regards to 30 years ago: That was 30 years ago, and guns were legal then. Although not for children. Good point though!

In no way do I brag at all about the amount of violence that is present in our Country. However i do not believe that you having pity for the United States is in any way relevent to this thread. In your "perfect world" you do not personally feel the need to bare arms, however as you can tell by reviewing this thread there are several other members who do feel safer and happier doing so. Even the crocodile hunter carries a weapon.. sure its just a knife, but even he feels the need for protection

"i'm here in the heart of the United States... hey, looky over there, its a thug. cmon, lets get a closer look... CRIKEYS, he almost shot my head off"

are you kidding. you must be 7ft 260lbs rock solid. you walk to your car in the middle of the projects, I want to see you not look over your shoulder even once. it's not fear, it's reality. side note, i've traveled the world and the only time i ever had a knife pulled on me was outside the US.

If you hadn't noticed, the issue doesn't appear to be with the orignal poster.

Thaty said, I'ds recommend a leather holster slung under the dash. Not sure whether it should be on the left or right. If you're right handed the right hand side makes more sense but maybe too close to the passenger. The problem with the left hand side is it is too close to your window and hence to a perp (see, I know the jargon).

Perhap side-on, butt to the right, in the middle under the steering column.

On a side: I know an idea was thrown around some time ago by Rick about making a leather holster.

PS> Still glad this isn't an issue I feel compelled to wrestle with first hand. Sorry of that upsets anyone. Don't shoot me!
