my2ks2k,

I responded with a clear STUDY that showed NO correlation between eating many small meals vs. fewer meals and METABOLIC change. I was responding to the other guy who clearly was just regurgitating what he read elsewhere, saying "smaller fewer meals raises your metabolism." That's BS.

When did I say to skip breakfast? You guys ought to get to class and pay attention. Condoning my decision of 2 meals a day is not saying to skip breakfast. Wow, talk about a logic FAIL. I am an adult, for younger folks who NEED the nutrients, it certainly seems that breakfast is a very good thing. Seeing as how I'm 29, I don't fall into this category. I forget at times that there are still kids in these threads, and yes, if you're a teenager, you probably should eat breakfast.

Me refuting the notion that many smaller meals does not cause your metabolism to rise is not me saying to not eat breakfast. *sigh* Just.. wow.. As I said, if you feel you need breakfast and it helps you, by all means eat it, but it's perfectly logical to think that others fare just fine w/o breakfast. I certainly haven't seen the evidence that you're better off eating a piece of crap than not eating breakfast (I suppose for younger folks however this might be true)..

Btw, that's not my blog.

Btw, citing a google search as "evidence" is laughable. That's a measure of popular sentiment, which is often times wrong (in many different things). Like I said, how many Dr's were wrong back in the 80's/90's in regards to the cause of heart disease and the solution? The majority. You just committed a very basic logical fallacy.

In summary, my point is simply that eating breakfast is by no means "necessary" or even beneficial for everyone (which is why I don't eat breakfast).

you're right, you didn't say specifically to skip breakfast. my apologies

you posted a study, i posted a study. both by MDs. my conclusion is...YMMV.

when i mentioned having "heard that it may be better to eat something bad for you than to not eat anything for breakfast", what i should have said was that i watched a nutritional/exercise special in an exercise science class; a test was run that showed (at least for this test) subjects who ate a (somewhat) fatty meal before exercising burned more calories than those who didn't eat anything.

All good.. I've read quite a bit on nutrition, and it's just amazing to me how much misinformation is out there and opinions tend to vary.

If I come across as a prick, I apologize.. Either way, good to have a discussion with someone and come to some kind of agreement. Take a look at that blog when you have some time. It's quite fascinating. Like I said, I don't follow it, but there are certainly some very interesting things you can take away from it.

Good luck on your p90x routine.. I'm too lazy to do it myself.. lol
