I had the Navy do mine, all four at once without them putting me to sleep. The procedure went fine.

Funny story.

Mine acted up while I was in law school. No insurance, no dough. I went to Tufts dental school and they did it for like $100. I had an instructor pull them while the students observed. The drugs were excellent: Novacaine injection, valeum I-V, and nitrous gas combo (think it was a 75 shot!). I was awake, but I didn't care if they cut out my jaw.

Anyway, I had two done the first time and felt fine the next day. Two years later I had to have the other two done. Went the same route, but this time I was knocked on my a$$ for two days.

Rich, as a professional who is experienced with the whole thing as a provider as well as having had mine pulled.

This is my suggestion. Go with local and nitrous. There is really no need for a general anesthetic and actually thought your oral surgeon may be pretty good, I know that they are not trained to handle an airway emergency from a general anesthestic gone wrong. With blood on your airway and a non protected airway you could potentially have problems.

Just my $.02 any ? pm me.
