Default alp 9815 install question(s)

when i bought my 9815 which is not yet installed - they recommended that i wire from battery so they recommended the 10gauge wire kit

is this necessary (I know people often recomemend? - but how many of you completely used the oem adaptor? for those of you that wired from the battery, did you still use the oem black ground in oem to 9815 adaptor or did you ground the 9815 directly and if so I assume under the dash somewhere. Did you do any grounding outside of the dash?

thanks for comments in advance

I have the 9815 installed and I just used the factory wiring harness. Although I'm not using the amp part of the 9815. I have a JL 500/5 that does all the power for my system. Here is a very good link that should help you decide.

9815 wiring

Good luck and enjoy!

my Alpine is also 100% tied into the factory wiring harness (using Lucid's adapter/DCI)... but like PAS2KNut, i am also not using the 7894's internal amplifier and have actually disabled it.
